Nicki Aycox |
Biography Birth Name Nicki Lynn Aycox Date of birth (location) 26 May 1975 Hennessey, Oklahoma, USA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A pert, perky blonde with a wordly demeanor, Nikki Lynn Aycox first became known for her recurring role in the folksy NBC dramedy "Ed" (2000 - ) playing Stella Vessey, the wandering, responsibility-shirking younger sister of uptight Carol (Julie Bowen) who embarks on an unexpected romance with high schooler Warren Cheswick (Justin Long). The Oklahoma native, often credited simply as Nikki Aycox, first began appearing on series television at age 21, guesting on such stalwarts as "3rd Rock from the Sun" and "Boy Meets World" and as a young rape victim in the telepic "Cruel Justice" (1999). In 1999 she landed the recurring role of Lilly Gallagher on NBC's sleeper hit family drama "Providence" (1999-2003) and went on to more visible guest stints on "Ally McBeal," "The X-Files," "Dark Angel," "CSI" and "Family Law." Aycox had a major leading role in the offbeat indie feature "Rave Macbeth" (2001), a club-kid version of the Shakespeare tragedy, along with minor roles in "Crime and Punishment in Suburbia" (2000) and "Slap Her, She's French" (2002). In just a few guest turns on "Ed" beginning in 2002, the actress garnered much attention for her breezy-on-the-outside, troubled-on-the-inside portrayal of Stella and ensured herself a recurring gig. Meanwhile, her feature film career was heating up, with a prominent role as a cheerleader among a bus full of high school students stalked by the fearsome Creeper in the horror sequel "Jeepers Creepers 2" (2003). |
