Intent on continuing the dance training she had started at age five, the perky brunette commuted from her home in Mexico to San Diego each day to attend the School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Her years of dance training won her a place on the San Diego Chargers cheerleading team in 1991. The following year, Carpenter relocated to L.A. where she was "discovered" while working as a waitress. Signed by a commercial agent, the beauty was soon booked in quite a few television spots (more than 20 commercials) which in turn led to guest roles on the syndicated series "Baywatch" and the ABC sitcom "Boy Meets World". In 1996, Aaron Spelling cast Carpenter as the star of his short-lived series "Malibu Shores" (NBC), but she is best known for her role on The WB's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel". As Cordelia, the fashion-obsessed, acid-tongued cheerleader, Carpenter has battled underworld beasts and perfected her comic timing. Carpenter currently resides in Los Angeles, Calif. with her two Golden Retrievers. A fitness enthusiast, her outdoor interests include rollerblading, rock climbing, hiking and sky diving.
